What is Ready Mix Concrete?
The concrete which is mixed in the agitator trucks or at the central batching plant and is delivered at site is known as ready mix concrete. It is used where there is shortage of space for the procurement of the material, where the site is very congested.
What Are The Types of Ready Mix Concrete?
It is of three types
1.Plant mixed concrete
In this the concrete is mixed at the central batching plant and then it is transported through a agitator trucks at sites. In these specific trucks the concrete is kept moving in circular path at 2 to 6 rpm. This prevents the stiffness and segregation in concrete.
2.Shrink Mixed Concrete
In this the concrete is partly mixed in the central batching plant and partly during the transportation by agitator truck.
3.Transit Mixed Concrete
In this the mixing of material (batched at central batching plant) is done in the agitator truck during the transportation at site. Speed of rotation for mixing the material is 6 to 16 rpm at site.
